A Poem: Why did you leave me?

Hello everyone! Today I’m sharing a poem I wrote last night, I hope you enjoy! 🙂

***

A pained sound fell from your lips

Red spilled from the point of the sword

That pierced your body

To you I ran towards

My bow clattered on the stone as I hurried

Closer to your falling body

We all cry out, but me the loudest

At first, I hated you

But now I love you and you are

Slipping away from me

I brushed your golden hair from your eyes

My tears dripping onto your face

Salty water slid into your pointy ears

I held you

Held you as you died in my arms

When you took your last breath

I squeezed you as you grew cold

Why did you leave me here

Here in this stone tomb

I don’t want to go on

The one you were in love with tries to pull me away

But I don’t let go of you

I want to carry you to your rightful home

The city of pure light

Why did you go where I can’t follow?

The grey plains of death

Full of beautiful trees and peace

Where your enemies can’t find you

I wish I could have saved you

But your cold body is in my arms and you’re dead

I lost you and I couldn’t do anything

I’m sorry, so sorry, golden haired best friend.

I hope you enjoyed the poem, have a great day! 😀

  1. Abby, you are a wonderful writer! I wish you could be in my writers’ group. I read every one of your “Abby Reports” even though I don’t always comment. Doughdaddy and I love you so much! Keep on writing!!
